Swoontini Interview: KIERSTEN WHITE

Hello swoonies!

Welcome back! Oh, how we love you guys. NO REALLY. Even those of you who mock Lo’s love for certain candy treats. And you know what? Speaking of sweet things (SMOOTH TRANSITION FTW) we have KIERSTEN WHITE here today! Yes, yes we do. You all know her from such things as Twitter, and her fabulous books, and SDCC, and of course her general cuteness. So settle in and join the weekly Wednesday slumber party…

Lo& C: Well, hello there, pretty! Oh how we miss your face!
Kiersten White: I miss YOUR faces! Especially Lo’s, even though I have to crane my neck at a 90 degree angle to look at it.

PARANORMALCY was an instant fave because, as a Buffy fan, I love the kick-a**, smart-mouth chick protagonist. But also: there was Reth. If David Bowie called you tomorrow and said that he would travel back in time to 1980 and film himself in the role of Reth, would you be on board with this plan?

Swoontini Interview: NATHAN BRANSFORD

Lo says: Okay, Swoonies. You guys know how much PQ and I heart Nathan Bransford. As in, A TON. Like many writers, we relied on his calm wisdom while writing and querying our first book. Then, in Summer 2011 I organized the What’s Hot in YA Fiction panel at San Diego Comic Con and Nathan Bransford (I’m sorry, I can’t just call him Nathan, it feels wrong somehow) agreed to moderate. *dancing dogs* Life is awesome, right?

But then.

To Coauthor or Not, aka Lo and Christina are Nuts

There’s one question we get waaaay more than any other: Why do you write together? Well of course there are the obvious benefits: two people to write, revise, research, blog, read, flail, post to tumblr, tweet etc etc. There’s the fact that writing is a stressful and lonely lonely business, and that going through it with someone else makes it not only easier, but fun. BUT it’s about way more than that. Lo and I aren’t just coauthors, we’re besties!

Swoontini Interview: MYRA MCENTIRE

Welcome back!! We’ve been busy busy busy finishing up our WIP (squeeeee!), and have lots of exciting stuff coming up. We’ve both read some amazing books and have recs on the way, as well as a new Swoony Boy Alert. And have you all read the exclusive Insurgent excerpt (sequel to Divergent)??

Today we’re thrilled to have agent-mate and all around adorable gal, Myra McEntire, author of HOURGLASS and the upcoming TIMEPIECE, here at SWOONTINI!

Lo & C say: HAY GIRL HAAAAAY! *high fives*
MM: *booty dance* HAAAAAAY GIRL! *looks around for Gosling*  *is disappointed*

Lo says: Oops. Sorry about that. He was just here, I swear! So, I love how you’re still speaking to me even though 0.25 nanoseconds after meeting you I basically started emailing you pictures of my Dream Kalebs. Some of them shirtless. Thanks for not blocking my gmail account. [Um… Christina is totally wondering why she hasn’t seen these. *looks at you both* *cries a little*]
MM: Well, my sweet Lo, as Anne Shirley taught us, one recognizes kindred spirits rather quickly. *SMOOSHES YOU*. Christina, I have done you wrong. (Shut up, I’m southern.) I shall rectify immediately. *ALSO SMOOSHES YOU* *waits for email*

Lo & C: After some really TEDIOUS and GRUELING research, we found a picture. Here’s how we sort of see Kaleb…high fives or facepalm?
MM: *RIGHT CLICK SAVE * THAT IS … THAT IS … I DON’T EVEN. *STAAAAAAAAAAAAARES*  *digs around in purse for inhaler*  *doesn’t use an inhaler*  *steals husbands* *prints out picture*

RIGHT??

Yeaaaaah. That’s pretty close. Ahem.

Swoontini Interview: CLAIRE LEGRAND

Her name is maybe the best name ever. We are considering changing ours to Lo Lawonderful and Christina Lehotstuff in honor of Claire Legrand coming to visit Swoontini!** In addition to having an outstanding blog, being adorable on twitter, and becoming our new bestie, she also wrote a review for Kristin Cashore’s upcoming BITTERBLUE that managed to make me laugh for hours. I promise I will shut up about that review eventually but TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY, SO JUST GO READ IT ALREADY.

Claire is magnetic and insanely clever online.  The first time I visited her site, I was all, OMG CLAIRE IS MY PEOPLE (in that I want to know her, not that I am magnetic and clever), and from what I can tell, pretty much everyone feels the same way (which, yeah, this is a little awkward, but I think she’s mine now, you guys).  She is darling, and witty, and actually has her own unicorn (IKR??). Her MG book, THE CAVENDISH HOME FOR BOYS AND GIRLS is coming out in August from Simon & Schuster BFYR, and she’ll be back to celebrate the release with us, but for now, we just wanted to love on her a little bit. If you haven’t met Claire, you’re going to swoon hard for her, guys. She’s a keeper.

Lo & C: HELLO SUPERSTAR!
CL: HELLO CUPCAKES!

Lo says: Claire, this is how I knew we were Sisters-From-Another-Mister: on your site you say, “When presented with the choice to high five or not to high five, [Claire] will always choose TO HIGH FIVE.” ME TOO! Let us BAD DANCE together while we high five!
