Swoontini Interview: Kami Garcia

WELCOME BACK! Last week was a big week for us because as most of you know…… IT WAS COMIC CON!! *pops nerd collar*

Did you go? Did we tackle love all over you? Well guess who was one of the unfortunate recipients of our hugs? The amazing Kami Garcia, co-author of The Beautiful Creatures series with the lovely Margaret Stohl, and author of the upcoming UNBREAKABLE, the first book in her solo series, THE LEGION! She didn’t even call security! And though everyone knows that Kami is a kickass writer, she’s also a real inspiration to those of us just starting out.

Lo & C: You were on a panel at San Diego Comic Con this year – the What’s Hot in Young Adult Fiction). And you’ve been to SDCC before – what’s the best costume you’ve ever seen?
KG: The Star Wars costumes are always my favorites, but the con before “The Walking Dead” came out, there were some serious zombie costumes at the booth.
Lo & C: We agree! We swear we could probably sit and do nothing but people watch all day and still  have a blast.

HELLO SWOONIES!

Did you have a happy Easter? DID YOU EAT ALL OF THE CHOCOLATE? We… Actually we did not. But that is only so that we can fit into our skin-tight Centaur costume for Comic Con! We know at least one person is laughing right  now while remembering the Centaur in 2011. He was amazing but THIS YEAR SHALL BE OUR TIME TO SHINE! See our costume sketch?

You can understand why NO THE CHOCOLATE FOR US, right?

SO HEY! Guess who is here?? … waits… Oh, right, you read the title! Smarties.YES, we have the amazeballs author of EVERNEATH – Brodi Ashton – and let me tell you, you want to go out and get her book RIGHT.NOW. It has it all: Greek mythology tied into a fantastic plot, with angst and swoons and TWO HOT BOYS. Plus the best cover in just about forever. Just sayin.

Comic Con Wrap-up

First things first: the randomly-selected winner of LOLA AND THE BOY NEXT DOOR giveaway was Ruthie! Thanks everyone for commenting and coming by, I know I speak for both of us when I say that it was a ton of fun re-reading the Anna & the French Kiss swoon. We have another giveaway coming up Wednesday – of DAUGHTER OF SMOKE AND BONE by Laini Taylor.

We are so overdue for this post, but Holy Hot Cricket this last week was nuts. Priorities: here’s some swoon:

Anyway, recovering from Comic Con requires at least a week, and of course it was a bananas work week (Lo) and/or everyone in the family got sick (Christina), so I think this week is the one for actual recovery.
